"The kit...was so much more than I expected. You offer elegant engineering solutions, a simple and beautiful sukkah and a process that is easy to understand and complete. With thanks from a very satisfied customer who is now passing your URL around her shul."

"This morning we took the 16x24 Big Sukkah down... Everyone was amazed at how easy your kit and plans made things go. But more importantly, our congregants (and Rabbi) love it. It is roomy, and the wood and bamboo mat roof gave it a warm feeling that our old PVC pipe Sukkah sorely lacked".

Bamboo
Roof Mats
The roof covering (s'chach) is the critical part of a sukkah -- it must be of
plant material and provide more shade than sun, but not block out the stars.
The Sukkah
Project™ kits provide a roof support system of wooden or bamboo roof slats designed to be
covered with locally-gathered greenery (branches, cornstalks, reeds, shrub prunings, etc) or roll-up Bamboo Mats consisting of
thin bamboo slats with a sturdy bamboo stick every foot or so to
provide stability. They are woven with durable, weatherproof
MONOFILAMENT, as specified in the psak of Rabbi Moshe Heinemann,
Rabbinic Administrator of STAR-K and authority on matters of kashrut:
http://www.star-k.org/cons-seasonal-schach.htm.
With proper care you can
expect mats to provide 10 or more years of use.
Mat come in these sizes: 4x8,
6x8, 8x8, 8x10, 8x12, 5x10, 6x10, & 6x12.
If you are purchasing mats for Sukkah Project™ kits, it is best to order by SUKKAH SIZE, to assure that the mats are suitable for your sukkah. The table below indicates the recommended mat arrangement for covering a sukkah of a given size:
