The 32x32 Wood-frame Big Sukkah Kit employs a set of ingenious galvanized steel braces to assemble a sturdy, reusable sukkah frame
using standard-length 2x4 lumber. 8ft- and 12ft long lengths of 2x4 are used. 8ft wide door openings are in the center of each wall which can either be left open or covered up.
The Kit contains all
the braces and hardware needed plus an illustrated, Klutz-Proof Assembly
Manual. The Wood-Frame Sukkah Kit is designed for the complete novice builder and requires no previous
carpentry skill or knowledge. The only tool required is a screwdriver (power screwdriver recommended).
Lumber for the project does not come with the kit, but is easily obtained at any building supply store using the "lumber shopping list"
included with the instructions. The project uses inexpensive,
standard-length 2x4s for the frame and 1x2s or 2x2s for the roof.
Walls to cover the frame
can be made from a variety of materials including natural or synthetic
fabrics, wood lattice, plywood, or our specially-designed SukkahScreen™:
an extremely durable outdoor fabric with sturdy edge reinforcement and
brass grommets. It attaches quickly with reusable elastic bungee loops
(included).
The 32x32ft Wood-Frame Sukkah Kit can be purchased WITH or WITHOUT SukkahScreen™ wall material. (Note: the standard 32x32 SukkahScreen™ set assumes that all 4 doorways will be open. If you intend to cover some doorway spaces with SukkahScreen™, contact us to obtain a modified set of Screens.)
Assembly of the Big Sukkah Kit is geared for a group of 3 or 4 workers, who
can complete the initial erection in about 3-5 hours. After this,
disassembly and reassembly goes much more quickly, as all of the braces are
left in place permanently. The disassembled boards nest together in a
compact bundle for storage.
